David Irving (1938-)

David IrvingDavid Irving, in his failed libel action against Deborah Lipstadt, who had accused him of being a Holocaust denier, admitted that he had a certain intolerance for people who smoked.

An understandable feeling, given the harmful effects of passive smoking, and it would be laudable to find that the Brentwood-educated historian wished also to protect his daughter from the noxious poisons propagated by unthinking idiots. The same young daughter to whom he sang:

I am a Baby Aryan
Not Jewish or sectarian
I have no plans to marry
An Ape or Rastafarian.

An unpleasant rhyme, but fortunately Irving recanted. He now regrets the last word and wishes he'd used 'vegetarian' instead.

David Irving, who attended Brentwood School after the Jewish holocaust had mercifully ended, is an historian and maintains a strong internet presence.

Given his history of appealing to the courts, we shan't offer an in-depth analysis of his controversial career as an historian. However, he is noted for his long fascination with Adolf Hitler and an unparalleled knowledge of Third Reich sources.

The photograph of him on this page is kindly offered to the public, free of copyright, at http://www.fpp.co.uk/Irving/photos/index.html But what's that tie he's wearing?
